Community College credits accepted by almost every University?

I'm a senior in High School and plan on attending community college to save money. Is it true that generally, almost every college and university will accept credits from such a school; specifically it's Dutchess Community College and I plan on going to a university in New York City. Also, would attending two years of community college inhibit my future educational career in any way?
