GH: I still don't get why Kristina lied....?

This s/l gets more annoying and frustrating day by day. Every time I think she'll finally tell the truth... I can't wait for it to come out and for this to be over! To me the only point to putting up with this s/l was for the writers to increase awareness of this kind of abuse and, therefore, encourage some women to reach out for help. But, having her accuse an innocent man and continue to do so, only takes away from the point and from the sympathy we would feel toward Kristina. I do think it's realistic to have her protect her abuser (she's been protecting him all along). I think this is common. But I had hoped that part of the reason would be because she was terrified of him and what he would do to her if she told the truth. Clearly this isn't the case since she let him into the house the other day! That is something I can't understand. Also, it seems like her only reason for blaming Ethan (and risking his life and his freedom) is because he rejected her. Obviously she has deep psychological problems, but I never thought she could be so cruel. After Ethan came to literally beg for his life and Jason, Carly, and Lucky have all tried to get her to tell the truth, she just cries and continues to lie. I'm sure it will turn out that Kiefer was abused, but they both need to check into Shady Brook. She's just begging to be beaten again and, if the spoilers are true, that's exactly what will happen.
